Cheese

Cheese is a very popular snack all over the world, but with a heavy concentration in Europe and the Americas. Cheese is made from the milk of an animal, traditionally cow's milk, and then the protiens in the milk are coagulated to form solids. The solids are combined to form cheese. There are hundreds of different kinds of cheeses produced that range in flavor, texture and what animal's milk is used. Cheese can be eaten alone, such as cubed cheese, or sliced on a cracker. Cheese is also a popular addition to other dishes, such as the addition of shredded cheese in many salads, putting cheese on a hamburger, and cheese on top of a baked potato.

Cheese is also popular for its melting properties. Melted cheese is most common on top of corn chips to make nachos. Melted cheese can also be an ingredient in soups and on sandwiches.

Even though there are hundreds of different types of cheeses, there are a few that have become very popular as snacks. Mozzarella is used on pizzas and as string cheese. Cheddar is common on many cheese plates and as a flavor for chips and other snacks. Swiss and Provelone also are popular, especiall as slices of cheese on sandwiches. WHY DID WE ADDED THIS
